What to Expect in a SimRange Session
Step 1 — Orientation
Roger briefs the group on the system, the training objectives for the session, and how the laser interaction works. No prior experience required.
Step 2 — Scenario Training
Participants cycle through scenarios selected for their skill level and goals. Roger coaches in real time — decision points, positioning, trigger control, and post-engagement assessment.
Step 3 — Debrief
Every session ends with a structured debrief. What worked, what didn't, and what to work on next. The SimRange records data that Roger uses to give specific, actionable feedback.

POST, CA DOJ and NRA Certified
Roger Harvey is one of a small number of CA DOJ civilian instructors in Southern California who is both a POST Certified Firearms Instructor and NRA Training Counselor. He trains other NRA Personal Protection in the Home (CCW) instructors and has the same credentials required of California law enforcement firearms instructors. That standard applies to every SimRange session he runs — beginner or advanced.
Does Basic Gun Safety offer simulator training for synagogue, mosque, or church security teams?
Yes. We have purpose-built scenarios for sanctuary environments and offer private group sessions for synagogue, mosque, and church security committees in Orange County and the Los Angeles area. Roger travels to your location. Sessions start at $2,000 for a 2-hour on-site session. Please call our office to discuss.

Will Roger travel to our location for security team training?
Yes. For custom packages including houses of worship and corporate security programs, Roger travels to your location within the Los Angeles and Orange County area. Setup, teardown, and travel are included in custom package pricing.
